Texas Hold’em Poker

Introduction:
Claimed to be one of the world’s most popular poker game, both in live casinos and online casinos, Texas Hold’em Poker is a variation of the standard card game of poker. It consists of of two cards being dealt face down to each player and then five community cards being placed face-up by the dealer. It is a game wherein individuals compete for an amount of money or chips contributed by the players themselves.

Rules of the game:

  • Blind bets are put out by the two players to the left of the dealer. A small blind is put by the player who is directly to the dealer’s, while the second player to the dealer’s left puts out the big blind.
  • Each player is dealt two cards, face down. These are called hole or pocket cards.
  • The first move falls on the player to the left of the big blind, where they can either call the bet, raise it, or fold, while continuing betting around the table in a clockwise direction
  • Once the betting is done, three cards are dealt face up in the center of the table, which is referred to as the board. The first three cards in Texas Hold’em are called the flop, which are basically “community cards” which means that everyone can use them in combination with their own hole cards in order to make the best hand.
  • Betting is then begun with the player to the dealer’s left, from the flop on
  • A fourth card called fourth street or the turn card is dealt face up onto the board
  • After another round of betting, the final card celled the fifth street or the river is dealt face up
  • The final round of betting occurs when the remaining players display their cards and the person who can make the best five cards wins by combining their pocket cards with the cards on the board.

Understanding the art of playing Blackjack

Introduction:

The principle of the game is to have a hand value which is closer to 21 than that of the dealer, without going over 21. The rules of play are strictly dictated for the dealer, where absolutely no decisions are left to them. If in case you’re a new player or a beginner, you can always ask the dealer or other players about your cards and ask them questions.

Rules of the game:

* The purpose is to beat the dealer’s hand without going over 21
* Face cards are worth 10, while aces are worth 1 or 11, whichever makes a better hand.
* Started with two cards by each player, where one of the dealer’s cards is hidden until the end
* To ‘Hit’ is to ask for another card. To ‘Stand’ is to hold your total and end your turn.
* You get busted if you go over 21, and the dealer wins regardless of the dealer’s hand.
* If you are dealt 21 from the start (Ace & 10), you get a blackjack.
* It therefore usually means that you win 1.5 the amount of your bet, depending on the casino.
* Dealer hits unless and until his/her cards total 17 or higher.
* Doubling is like a hit, where only the bet is doubled and the player only gets one more card.
* If you have two of the same card, split can be done, where the pair is split into two hands.
* The bet is also doubled by splitting, since each new hand is worth the original bet.
* The first move can only be doubled or split
* Two aces cannot be player after they are split.
* You can double on a hand resulting from a split, tripling or quadrupling your bet.

Insurance:

Insurance bets can be made by betting up to half your original bet amount in the insurance betting stripe in front of your bet, wherein the dealer gets to check if he has a 10-value card underneath his Ace, and if he does have Blackjack, the winning Insurance bet will be paid at odds of 2:1. The original bet is of course lost, unless you also have a Blackjack, which results in a break.

The bet is therefore described as “insurance”, since it the original bet of the player is protected against a dealer blackjack. It is also referred to as a side-bet, wherein you are offered 2:1 odds that the dealer has a 10-valued card underneath. A quick check of the odds gives the following assumptions – In a single deck game, there are 16 ten-valued cards; wherein it is assumed that you don’t see any other cards, including your own; while the tens compose 16 out of 51 remaining cards after the dealer’s Ace was removed.
